Make Your Own Weight Gainer

The best weight-gainer shakes are those made at home. First & foremost, you need a quality protein source. I’m a huge fan of Tokkyo Nutrition’s Tokkyo Protein (Chocolate). Take 1-2 scoops for your lean protein source. Next take 1-2 portions of peanut butter or almond butter. You could also use Nutella, but peanut & almond based butters will give you more protein, in addition to healthy fats. You also want to include a solid complex carb source. Oats provide you with sustained energy & sound nutrition. You can add 1-2 servings of cooked or raw oats to the shake. Every shake needs a base-liquid, this could be water, milk, or almond milk, to name a few. You really want to avoid using water, as your goal here is have good calories. Add some ice & put the ingredients through the blender.
If you’re using vanilla Tokkyo Protein you could also throw in some ripe bananas & strawberries. I will say that vanilla is far more versatile in terms of ingredient choices. It all depends on how many calories you’re shooting for. Be very mindful, that you can create an effective & CLEAN weight gainer at home!!
