Life w/o Machines – Could you Hang?
by Christian Duque
Back in the day, I mean WAY back in the day, before weight-training was used for conventional purposes, lifters only had access to barbells & dumbbells – that was it. There were no machines, no pulleys, no assisted reps – none of that. These old school guys could either move the weight or they couldn’t. Even without machines & supplements, they were still able to build decent physiques with good amounts of muscle. For those days, the transformations were adequate, but for today, everyone expects more; they actually demand it.
For many people today, the challenge of living without machines would be an easy one. Most lifters, particularly young ones, like to feel strength & they like to control the weight from beginning to end. However, much like in the supplement game, customers want to have access to everything that’s out there. If you’re serious about building the best physique possible, you’ll leave your ego at the door & incorporate everything at your disposal. If doing chest on a machine will make you look silly to others in the gym – deal with it. What people say or do is of little consequence to building muscle. The smart lifter is the one who lifts for a lifetime.
Train with iron, eat quality meals, & use high quality supplements from reputable companies like Tokkyo Nutrition. If you cut corners, you may find yourself sideline from the pastime you live & love.
